What We Crave To Do This Summer

 Water Camp Resort – April 26-27, 2011

It has been a year or so since Dih and I had a break. And now that I am on vacation leave, we decided to search for a new resort on the web to explore this summer. We have been to a few resorts in Cavite but this one for this year has been different.

Found from the web a year ago, Water Camp Resort became appealing to us. Located at Josephine Village, Panamitan, Kawit, Cavite, we thought of it as an expensive resort to spend with, but to our surprise, the pricings were affordable and soon then realized it was cheaper than the other resorts we have been to. We keep on browsing on their website the accommodations, foods, pools and other amenities and found it to be very interesting to explore and not to mention the excitement of being unfamiliar with the place that we have to use the google earth to trek and locate the said resort.

As early as 6am we are all set with our backpacks and jump-started the road trip with our motorcycle (have it loaded with gas in case we got lost). To our surprise, the place was very easy to find and very accessible for commuters with almost 20mins travel from Imus, Cavite, no traffic, no hassle and manageable to track.

The resort was big enough to accommodate their guests for they have plenty of picnic tables, gazebos and huts. For guests who would want to stay overnight or 24 hours they can choose from the Water Camp Inns and Family Villas depending on the number of guests. Dih and I chose the standard room good for two persons with one big bed, a hot & cold shower, T&B, TV with cable, fully air-conditioned, a table inside and outside the room amounting to Php2,000 only for 24 hours (entrance fee included). We opt to have our own room to secure our belongings, and have a comfortable place to spend the rest of the night.

We were so excited that after we checked-in we started to explore the resort, took pictures, ate breakfast and jumped on the pool. We found the place to be very family-oriented and very safe for kids considering there are about five lifeguards on each pool standing on every corner checking the safety of the kids. The deepest pool is only 5 feet and the kid’s pool has mini slides and playground that makes it very appealing to children and adults as well. They also have a mini wave pool where you can experience being on a beach with waves.

You can also bring foods and drinks, good thing here is that they are not so strict with foods even if they have a Little Josephine restaurant inside open for 24 hours also and some food carts, of course liquors are not allowed.

What also satisfies us is their room accommodation, the room was very clean, and we have clean white towels, bed sheets, pillows and blanket. Also they gave us a ‘good morning’ kit containing toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo and soap. They also have a 24 hours room service where you can call them anytime for cleaning and also to deliver food and other needs.

For a price of Php2,000 you can say that it is very satisfying and super “SULIT” on your budget and the place is so cozy , entertaining and memorable. We highly recommend it to families who would want their kids to enjoy their swimming this summer…very accessible and nice place to spend swimming with your family, relatives and loved-ones.

Plaza Sizzlers’ Chicken Wings and Pork Barbecue

As me and my Green stride along the escalator of Robinsons, we thought to visit one of our favorite place to eat. We are just craving for something sizzling and satisfying meal, so we headed straight at the food court and ordered our all-time favorite meal, Chicken Wings and Pork Barbecue.

Since their stall opened, we have tried one by one all their meals but this one is really the best for us because:
first: it’s already good for two persons, all you need to do is to buy an extra rice

second: the pork barbecue itself is very tasty, juicy and tender, unlike other fast foods that serve barbecue that is too hard to cut and chew, this one is the best among them.
Third: they serve it with ATSARA which blends perfectly well with the barbecued chicken wings and pork.
Fourth: the barbecue sauce that is very tasty and extraordinaire!

Fifth: the unlimited tasty soup that they serve together with the complete meal..

So Green and Violet rates them a 9 for the meal well done!

Hey Corn Lovers Out There!

It’s after Christmas vacation when I came to notice this new corn stall at the food court. Its been a year since my favorite corn stall closed..by the way.. corn is one of our favorites, be it on a cob or cobless (or should I say shredded corn) with cheese powder, butter and cheesy cream (like chizwiz). Seeing the newly opened store lifted my spirits and excitement that I hurriedly went and bought a cup of shredded corn. And to my surprise, for a price PhP22.00 you already have a big cup of           shredded corn with lots of creamy cheese, butter and cheese powder! Yum!

They not only sell corn on a cob or shredded ones with cheese but they also have corn with milk and ice or what we often call “mais-con-yelo”. Well I would say that this corn stall sure would be a hit for corn lovers because it not only is yummy but the price justifies the quantity.. (they sure give a lot to their servings!)

Corn Corner is located at the 2nd level of Robinsons Place Imus, food court.

Give it a visit one day and surely you’ll never regret buying one!

Life is Sweeter with Ref Cakes!

 Ref Cakes by Craves..

This photo on the left is the end-product of our cravings for cakes…
It started one sunny morning that we both woke up and felt the crave for a cake. Unfortunately, we do not have enough money to satisfy our desire to even have a slice of it. We felt a bit miserable of having been deprived of a piece of cake. We even asked ourselves why does it cost too much to have just a slice and yet we are not satisfied?

With these thoughts came an idea of creating our very own cake. But how? We don’t even own an oven nor have any baking materials. So we thought of a simple cake that needs no baking at all. What actually came as an idea was a graham cake, but what could make a simple graham cake more enticing than to create one with a twist!

Right there and then we started to create our soon to be masterpiece cake that we then called “Ref Cakes” for they are simply placed on the fringe right after making one. And because the creators of it are more than craving for a cake that day, we added the name “by Craves” to complete our now DTI registered name “REF Cakes by Craves”.

We cannot say it tastes perfect, but of course for us ‘creators’ of it, it tasted like the best yet cheapest ref cakes ever made! (love your own!) but of course it’s incomparable with the normal cakes found on famous shops that has undergone oven baking, with icings and all that. This one is especially created for those who craves for a unique refrigerated cakes in different flavors and not to mention, a cheap one.

On one of our photos here shows the different flavors: we have mango floatee, mocha crumble, creamy blueberry, cookies and cream and strawberry cream. On the bottom is the crust and each flavor are found in the middle of the specially made cream topped with crushed graham. But for cookies and cream, we use crushed oreos on top to really have a taste and feel of a real cookie and a cream ^_^.
Oh well so much for these, we will share to you more as soon as we have compiled our new ref cakes photos and of course to start  our journey for food trips here in our town!

Ciao!
